Costa Teguise is situated on the central east coast of Lanzarote a little north of Arrecife. It is one of the most attractive and popular tourist destinations on Lanzarote and has much to offer. These offerings include wonderful golden beaches, beautiful green spaces and a sense of tranquility which is sometimes lacking in the busier resorts.
If its sports you enjoy, there are plenty of opportunities to take part in many different water sports such as windsurfing, scuba diving and snorkeling in crystal clear waters. Deep sea fishing is also available. You can even take a trip on a yellow submarine! There is an 18 hole golf course, an aquatic park and plenty of sightseeing and cultural activities to take part in.
If it's shopping you enjoy, the historic capital Teguise has a wonderful market on Sundays: The entire village turns into a giant open air market. There are many small bars and cafés here, where you can pop in for a quick drink. La Villa de Teguise has a lovely charm about it; there are many small streets with nooks and crannies to explore. The shops here sell locally made crafts and gifts etc.
The nightlife in Costa Teguise is more low-key and family orientated than the busier resorts such as Puerto Del Carmen but is still lively enough. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants, offering food to suite all tastes. The ubiquitous British breakfasts are always available as are many local Canarian dishes (including wonderful fresh fish) and other international delights. The bars and restaurants open until late at night.
For the sun worshippers out there, fine white sand and crystal clear waters make the beaches of Costa Teguise an excellent choice. You can of course stay on site and enjoy the private beach. If however you fancy a short walk, there are a number of beaches to choose from. Playa Las Cucharas is the longest beach (640m) situated in the heart of the resort, with all of the facilities you need. Other beaches include Playa Los Charcos, Playa El Jablillo and Playa Bastián in Las Caletas, close to Costa Teguise.
Costa Teguise has a good public transport service with buses and taxis being readily available. If however you want to really get the most out Lanzarote and explore further afield, you should consider renting a car. Renting a car is very cheap; a week in October for example is only about £80 or so (if booked in advance). The roads are generally in very good condition.
If you want to rest and relax and have great fun in the sun, Costa Teguise is the ideal place to visit.
Costa Teguise's weather is usually very good all year round as it is on the rest of the beautiful island of Lanzarote.
